Packaging Is
More Than a Box

Branded retail packaging design is crucial in product marketing. It's the first touchpoint customers have with a product, making it vital for establishing a strong brand identity and recognition. Well-crafted packaging not only makes a product stand out on shelves but also serves as a form of advertising, spreading brand awareness and influencing purchasing decisions. However, it's not just about aesthetics; packaging must also protect the product. In essence, effective retail packaging is key to a product's success and an integral part of marketing.

Lexar By Micron
Multi-Tier Packaging Program

Facing the challenge of meeting diverse customer demands and marketing objectives, I led the development of a Branded Multi-Tier Packaging Program. This innovative approach involved creating a range of custom packages, each uniquely designed and tailored to cater to different customer segments and product tiers.

Lexar Professional. In the realm of professional content creation, where stringent performance standards are paramount, we introduced our premium brand, Lexar Professional. Offering a spectrum of speed-rated performance options, from Bronze to Silver to Gold, this brand provided content creators with the freedom to choose the ideal storage solution, ensuring their creative pursuits were unhindered by storage limitations.

Lexar Media Consumer. Catering to a wide range of customer preferences and budgets, Lexar Media's consumer product line was categorized into 'Good,' 'Better,' and 'Best.' These products were strategically positioned in popular retail chains like Target and Best Buy, effectively meeting the needs of diverse consumer segments, from budget-conscious individuals to those seeking high-performance products.

TP-Link Smart WiFi LED Bulb
Retail Packaging

TP-Link WiFi LED Bulb LB-130 represents the forefront of smart home innovation, posing unique design challenges in packaging that appeals to a diverse consumer base while aligning with our marketing objectives. My approach centered on creating packaging that was both approachable and user-friendly, yet exciting enough to stand out in the smart home space.

The design strategy was to make the TP-Link bulb accessible to everyone—regardless of their tech savvy. The packaging needed to communicate not just the bulb's features but also its ease of use, ensuring potential buyers that they could set it up effortlessly, without needing deep knowledge of internet technologies or the help of an IT friend. With clear, inviting graphics and straightforward language, the package design invites users into the world of IoT, making the step towards a smarter home not just simple, but also engaging and fun. This approach not only aligns with TP-Link's brand ethos of accessibility but also enhances the product's appeal by reducing the intimidation factor often associated with new technology.

REAL System Y-Series
Immersive Rehabilitation

REAL System. As a startup, I introduced the FDA Cleared REAL Immersive System, a virtual reality rehabilitation technology aimed at empowering people with disabilities. From content marketing to social channels, I ensured consistent brand aesthetics for REAL System products. Our VR system provides engaging and immersive therapeutic experiences, promoting better health and independence under clinical supervision.

Marketing this innovative device came with the challenge of FDA compliance and visually compelling brand graphics. We crafted UI, gaming, and VR software alongside the hardware device, aligning with medical device industry standards to tell our product's story effectively.

ProGrade Digital
Eco-Friendly Packaging

Introducing ProGrade Eco-Friendly packaging, ProGrade Digital offers professional-grade memory cards in Gold and Cobalt levels, meeting the high demands of photographers and videographers for seamless, high-quality image and video capture.

Branded Packaging. As the Art Director for ProGrade Digital, I took on the challenge of establishing a new brand identity. Our goal was to create a brand that resonated with professional photographers, balancing simplicity and sophistication. I designed a logo with high-gloss varnish on matte black substrate, mirroring the aesthetics of professional photography gear, to give our brand a unique identity.

Patented Packaging Design. When tasked with revamping ProGrade Digital's packaging, our focus was on innovation and environmental sustainability. To replace the outdated plastic jewel case standard, I designed a patented compostable fiber tray using thermoform molding techniques. This solution, developed from concept to manufacturing, allowed us to produce 100% biodegradable packaging, aligning with our commitment to environmental responsibility and reinforcing our brand's values.
